The Springfield 1873 “Trap Door” was the first breech action rifle adopted by the US Army, using the powerfull 45-70 round. Alongside the Henry rifle, this one has been vastly used during the Indian wars.
As I’m a beginner, working on the trap door mecanism is pretty tough. I might have to work on that again (and many other details).
